Metropolitan Area Noon Nutrition Association

Welcome!

MANNA PROVIDES:
GOOD NUTRITION with meals prepared to meet the special dietary needs of each client. Therapeutic diets are available at the request of the client's personal physician.

What is MANNA?

In the Old Testament account of the Israelite's journey through the wilderness, God sent down FOOD FROM HEAVEN to feed His hungry people. They called this food MANNA.
MANNA is a non-profit corporation, organized by local people. Its purpose is to meet the nutritional needs of homebound people who are unable to provide an adequate diet for themselves and have no one else to do it for them.

FUNDING:

Community support is essential for the continued success of the MANNA program. Funding from churches, individuals, businesses, clubs and organizations is necessary for the program to always be available to those who need it, when they need it.
We receive funding from City Development Block Grants through the City of Gadsden, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and United Way of Etowah County.
The Board of Directors, composed of local people from all walks of life, determines the overall administration of the program. They are responsible for raising funds to administer the program and provide meals for clients who are unable to pay for them.
Riverview Regional Medical Center has provided telephones and office space.
We purchase our meals from
Valley Innovative Food Service housed  at Riverview Regional Medical Center where they are prepared under the supervision of the Hospital Dietician.
FRIENDSHIP through the volunteers who develop a special relationship with the clients while delivering their meals.
A SAFETY CHECK if they should fall or otherwise need immediate medical attention and have no one else to check on them regularly.
INDEPENDENCE as it allows people to remain in their own homes as long as possible. It can also mean earlier release from the hospital
You can have an important part in building a strong future for homebound meals by contributing to MANNA. Several funding choices are available through which gifts may be made:
 One-Time Gift
 Memorials /Honorariums:
Gifts given in honor or memory of a friend, loved one, or other special individual occasion.
Pledge , A gift given on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
